Happy or sad anniversary...

Israel closes all West Bank
Tonight from midnight and for 72 hours
JERUSALEM, MAY 5 - The Israeli army announced the closure of the West Bank from midnight and for a period of 72 hours for security reasons. During this period the army 'grow' the level of alert to ensure the safety of the citizens of Israel and will do 'everything possible so as not to affect the daily lives of Palestinians'. The Jewish state celebrates Wednesday 'and Thursday' the 60 anniversary of its creation.

Sorry Palestinian Brothers & Sisters, you are closed now... you are in a cage for 3 days... but you have to live... be silent... everithing it's normal... is for the safety of the anniversary... good anniversary...
I hope that nobody can ever close anybody any more!!!
We ALL need to be free...

"It will be a time in the future in which the responsible for crimes against humanity that have accompanied the Israeli-Palestinian conflict and other conflicts in this transition period, will be called to account to the courts of men or of history, accompanied by their accomplices and by those in the West have opted for silence, the cowardice and opportunism. On The Guardian of Wednesday April 30 2008 I founded this article:"We're not celebrating Israel's anniversary" that is a letter written and signed by more than 100 jewish people living in England.
This is the full text:

""In May, Jewish organisations will be celebrating the 60th anniversary of the founding of the state of Israel. This is understandable in the context of centuries of persecution culminating in the Holocaust. Nevertheless, we are Jews who will not be celebrating. Surely it is now time to acknowledge the narrative of the other, the price paid by another people for European anti-semitism and Hitler's genocidal policies. As Edward Said emphasised, what the Holocaust is to the Jews, the Naqba is to the Palestinians.

In April 1948, the same month as the infamous massacre at Deir Yassin and the mortar attack on Palestinian civilians in Haifa's market square, Plan Dalet was put into operation. This authorised the destruction of Palestinian villages and the expulsion of the indigenous population outside the borders of the state. We will not be celebrating.

In July 1948, 70,000 Palestinians were driven from their homes in Lydda and Ramleh in the heat of the summer with no food or water. Hundreds died. It was known as the Death March. We will not be celebrating.

In all, 750,000 Palestinians became refugees. Some 400 villages were wiped off the map. That did not end the ethnic cleansing. Thousands of Palestinians (Israeli citizens) were expelled from the Galilee in 1956. Many thousands more when Israel occupied the West Bank and Gaza. Under international law and sanctioned by UN resolution 194, refugees from war have a right to return or compensation. Israel has never accepted that right. We will not be celebrating.

We cannot celebrate the birthday of a state founded on terrorism, massacres and the dispossession of another people from their land. We cannot celebrate the birthday of a state that even now engages in ethnic cleansing, that violates international law, that is inflicting a monstrous collective punishment on the civilian population of Gaza and that continues to deny to Palestinians their human rights and national aspirations.

We will celebrate when Arab and Jew live as equals in a peaceful Middle East.""

I can only say that lot of people are moving to Turin (in North Italy) where the annual Book Fair is taking place to demostrate against the choose of the organizator to celebrate the Anniversary of the State of Israel and I would like to be with them... I can only continue to study a lot!!! To really deserve
being your president!?! ^__^

Hi
Yes , they are kind of right about everything but one thing (We will celebrate when Arab and Jew live as equals in a peaceful Middle East) , because this land is our land "Palestinian people land " so jew must leave , and were not going to say " OK you can live peacefuly with us in our land " .
I hope when you come to palestine next time , to visit my grand mother to hear about our Nakba from someone who lived it , not only to know about numbers , and i hope also to watsh a show which is called " altghreba alflstenea " it's about our Nakba in the reallty . i cry everytime i watsh it , because it really show's you some unbelievable facts about Israeli crimes in 1948 .
I should say thank God there are people like you who really cares about us in Palestine , finaly we have some awaken conscience .

News from Italy

TURIN - A flag of Palestine of four meters per fifteen opens the procession which moved from the centre of Turin to say "no" to the choose of the Book Fair to dedicate to Israel the edition of this year. The demonstrators are about a thousand, representing dozens of associations from all over Italy. "Boycott Israel, sustain Palestine" is written in the head on a parade banner that depicts images of suffering children of any Palestinians. The list contains the names: Musaab of one year, Salah of 3 years and Rudeina of 6 years. The demonstrators denounced "the daily terror raid and - we read on some cartels - that in the last seven years, have been killed 5,050 Palestinians and destroyed 32 thousand houses." Many wear the kefiah and there are also numerous
dissident Jews at the event. George Strong, professor emeritus of Science at the University of Milan, said that the initiative to have Israel as the guest of honour at the Book Fair of Turin "is not only cultural, is political".
There were a dozen of Jewish dissidents with the white banner with the inscription in red: "Jews against occupation". "I support the culture of books - has added Prof. Strength - but why they invited some Israelis and not others. Above all they had to invite Palestinians writers . There are many very good".

Here, in Italy, we have a strange way of thinking about "information": the news on tv ( fullfilled of curious-stupid news and promotional messages )and on the several newspaper we have (that receive from the state 667.000.000 euros a year as a contribution for their existence!?!) are partial, often they delete some news from the world (they have so much power!!!) and _always_ they decide what to say and to say it...
You can see the video here: http://www.ilovepalestine.com/media/Peace-Propaganda.html
where they speak about information in USA...so, in Italy is the same, but usually we say that here we are like on a ship, with the sails in the wind: now, after the election of April 13, the wind has changed, we have again Berlusconi, and he is with USA, so, I think, with the Israel way of thinking...
During the Book Fair there was 3-6000 people to demostrate their feelings about Palestinian and about the Israel way of ruling on them... But before the beginning of the Fair, some people burned the flag of Israel, so they made place for everyone to make their excuses to the israeli, 'cause of that very bad act!!! Even our President of the Repubblic Napolitano had to talk about the legitimacy of the STATE OF ISRAEL... but he didn't talk about the occupation, he talk about Anniversary, but not about Nakba...and he didn't talk about peace!?!

We need to be free as you...you need to be as me... sometimes when I hear about the news on TV or I read something on newspapers, I feel chased, captured, chained and
imprisoned... to be free I have to look on internet...but is like seeking a needle in a haystack... we have (in Italy) more than 2.400 E-zine (internet magazine) and I don't know in the entire www!!!
So somethimes it seems to me that I'm looking for "my" news, I care only about some news, but I search all the version to catch the differences... TOOO MUCH TIMEEE!!!

I felt like the author of this article when I was at Hebron... look at photos too!!!
http://electronicintifada.net/v2/article9531.shtml

For the peace-solution I have already a great confusion, because in my heart I feel that Israeli must go away from your land because all the violence they did...but in my mind it's impossible, because "some" of them are really good people that deserve to live with you, without violence, because it is really possible...(of course they have to stop thinking that they are the choosen from God!?!)

Then I'll come to your grandmother home... to cry and to smile together, but to have tea tea with nana too and perhaps "knafeh"!!!
